Sacred Hoops Basketball
Giving opportunities to basketball athletes in South Dakota and prioritizing positive player development through competition.
About Sacred Hoops Basketball
Sacred Hoops Basketball was founded in 2018 by Allan Bertram, current head women’s basketball coach at Mount Marty University, longtime friend and former Red Cloud (Mahpíya Lúta) basketball coach, Matt Rama, and White River athletic director and basketball coach, Eldon Marshall.
Since its founding in 2018, Sacred Hoops has had teams from across the state of South Dakota compete at the highest level locally, regionally and nationally. Hundreds of athletes have had the opportunity to grow their love for the game of basketball with Sacred Hoops and look forward to helping hundreds more in the future.
In Fall 2024, Sacred Hoops partnered with Ambush Basketball, founded by USD Hall of Famer Josh Mueller, to grow the game of basketball throughout South Dakota and neighboring states. The partnership shares staff from both programs who are located across the state. This allows for more region-focused teams and skills camps without having to travel to a metro area. Both programs offer summer team – boys basketball teams fall under Sacred Hoops and girls basketball teams fall under Ambush Basketball.
Sacred Hoops and Ambush have teams based out of:
-
Sioux Falls Area
-
Mt. Vernon Area
-
Pierre Area
-
Wall Area
